Itinerary : 7 Days tour from Marrakech
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech.
In the 7 days trip in Morocco, Arrival in Marrakech Airport Transfer to the Riad or hotel. Free day to take contact with the place: One of the 4 imperial cities of Morocco. Famous for its numerous monuments recognized as World Heritage, and its famous Jemaa el Fna square. You will be able to walk through its different and characteristic neighborhoods, the modern city: Guéliz, Hivernage, Palmeraie, Mellah (the Jewish quarter)…
Or let yourself be carried away by the winding streets of the Medina, to the Jmaa el Fna square, the scene of a host of outdoor activities: jugglers, musicians, fakirs, snake charmers, minstrels … that will awaken all your senses, with its many sounds, aromas, flavors and colors that characterize it. Overnight in riad.
Day 2: Marrakesh - Dades Gorges
After breakfast we will leave Marrakech towards Dades Gorges. On the way we will cross the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the port of Tizi n’Tichka, making our way through numerous Berber nomadic villages that inhabit the area. Spectacular scenery that will take us to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, famous for being the scene of more than twenty films, such as “Babel”.
We will continue via Ouarzazate crossing the valley of Roses, to enter the Dades Gorges, where the so-called “route of the thousand kasbahs” begins. Overnight in Dades valley and dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Merzouga.
Breakfast at the hotel. We headed to the Todra Gorges, where you can take a pleasant walk between its imposing canyon walls of more than 200 meters high, until the exit to the desert through the palm grove of Tafilalet. Arrival at the hotel at the foot of the dunes, where you can walk on the fine sand of Erg Chebbi, relax and enjoy this breathtaking scenery. In the evening, you will taste a delicious Moroccan dish. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Merzouga - Return of the Erg Chebbi in 4x4 - Merzouga.
After a hearty Moroccan breakfast, we will get into the 4×4 to start our tour around the Erg Chebbi dunes, desert region populated by sand: Among the many stops that await us, we will discover how and where nomadic families live in the area, wild oasis in the middle of nowhere, spectacular landscapes and small desert villages, palm groves ….
Inevitable stop on our way through the village of Khamelia, of people originally from Mali, who will make us enjoy a nice concert of Gnawa music, while we savor a delicious tea.
On the way back to the hotel, our camels will be waiting for us to set off on a route of an hour and a half, making our way through the dunes, until we reach the heart of the desert to contemplate the beautiful sunset. Tucked by the Great Dune, and enjoying the music of the drums, dinner and Moroccan tea, you can contemplate the immense sky of stars and sleep in nomadic tents.
Day 5: Merzouga - Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez.
We will wake up early in the morning, to be able to contemplate another great spectacle among the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara: the spectacular sunrise. You will get back on your dromedaries to take another route back to the hotel. Breakfast and shower, and we continue our way to Rissani. Where we will stroll through what is known as the most authentic and traditional souk in Morocco, and the largest in the south of the country, where all kinds of handicrafts, food and animals are traded.
We continue via Erfud, the ancient gateway to the desert, a city famous for its fossil work, crossing the impressive Ziz Valley, with its more than 18,000 palm trees, until we reach Midelt. Stop for lunch and continue the road to Fez passing through Ifran (also known as the Moroccan Switzerland for the aesthetics of its buildings) Arrival in Fez, and transfer to the hotel.
Day 6: Fez - Fez.
Free day in Fez to visit the city Another of the 4 imperial cities. In Morocco it is considered the religious and cultural center of the country. Its university, famous for the study of Arabic and the Muslim religion, is a point of passage of many Moroccan students. You will have time to walk around and get to know its different neighborhoods, the new area or Fès el-Jdid, where you will find the Mellah (the Jewish quarter), the Ville Nouvelle (New Town) French area in the northwest of the city and of course, Fez el-Bali, the old area, inside the walls. You can stroll through its streets and feel how it transports you to past worlds in which potters, smiths, craftsmen and donkeys loaded with goods from various origins coexist with tourists who pass through its labyrinthine streets. Also famous for the souk of the tanners, you can be part of the craft process of medieval roots by which they get those bright colors to the leather. Overnight in riad.
Day 7: Fez - Airport.
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of 7 days in Marrakech.
