Tanger 8 days itinerary

Day 1: TANGIER - TETUAN - CHEFCHAOUEN

Arrival in Tangier and pick up at the port or airport of the same city. Departure to Chauen, stop in Tetouan, the Spanish city, arrival in Chefchaouen, departure for a visit to the city of Chauen. We will stroll through its streets and among its old houses of blue and white, and also contemplate its panoramic views. Accommodation and breakfast at the hotel and dinner in the square of Chaouen.

Day 2: CHEFCHAOUEN - ROMAN RUINS - MEKNES - FEZ

Departure to Fes, bordering the Rif forest. Arrival at the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis, visit the ruins with local guide, “optional”. Continuation to Meknes, city that reached its heyday thanks to Sultan Moulay Ismael, visit the palace and the famous Bab Mansour gate, Dar El Maa and the Granary. Then we will go to Fez. Dinner and overnight at Riad/Hotel

Day 3: FEZ, (guided tour to discover the largest Medina of Morocco)

Full day dedicated to the discovery of the intellectual city of the kingdom. Numerous are the monuments that you will be able to visit: Medersas (Koranic schools): Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin. Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Quaraouiyine Mosque (first university in the world). Dinner and overnight at Riad / Hotel.

Day 4: FEZ - IFRANE - AZROU - CEDAR FOREST - ERFOUD - MEROUGA

From Fez we will go to the Middle Atlas, to visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next village will be Azrou “the rock”, Berber village known for its craftsmanship, carpets and wood carving, then arrival in Midelt. We follow the road through the Tizi Talghemt or Camel’s Neck, at 1,907 meters altitude. The relief is impressive, the mountains are completely bare, covered with a purple coat. Arrival in Errachidia and start the crossing of the massif of Tafilalet to the palm grove of Erfoud. Direction desert. Night in camp of Haima Berber.

Day 5: MERZOUGA - RISSANI - TODRA GORGE - VALLEY OF ROSES - OUARZAZTE

Departure by road to the palm grove of Rissani and Jorf located on the right bank of the Oued Ziz, then to the Ksar of Touroug; framed by spectacular oasis. Then we will pass through Tinejdad before reaching Tinerhir. After lunch we will walk through the Todra Gorges. Then we will go through the beautiful Boumalne Dades valley visiting Kelaat M’gouna and Valley of the Roses, in full splendor during the month of May. Arrival in Ouarzazate, possibility of visiting the Kasbah of Taourirt which was the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech.

Day 6: OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU - TELOUET - HIGH ATLAS - MARRAKECH

We will head to Marrakech by the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m), the “neck of the pastures”. The slope is made by an alternative track with the option to visit the famous Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a castle declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Then we continue our route to the capital of Marrakech “El Pasha Glaoui” visiting his palace located in the kasbah of Telouet. From there we take the road of the curves of the port of Tichka which offers a spectacular panorama with a multitude of colors on the plain of the Haouez, Arrival in Marrakech. Dinner and overnight at Riad / Hotel.

Day 7: MARRAKECH - MARRAKECH, (cultural visit)

Morning visit of this city that gave its name to Morocco. It extends in front of the majestic Atlas with snow-capped peaks part of the year. Its destiny is linked to that of the various dynasties that succeed one another and its tradition of political, economic and cultural metropolis has always dominated the history of the Maghreb, Marrakech is also the city show, where there is permanent party as you can see in the famous Jemaa el Fna Square; which for several centuries constitutes the most incredible popular theater in the world: snake charmers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, pythonesses, actors, fortune tellers… In Marrakech there are plenty of places to visit, for example, Medersa Ben Youssef, the Menara, the Museum of Dar Si Said, the Agdal Garden, the Saadian Tombs and the Badi and Bahia Palaces…. Afternoon free and dinner in the famous square; Overnight at Hotel or Riad.

Day 8: MARRAKECH , (Transfer to Marrakech Airport)

We were a group of friends and had little time, so we were able to modify the trip and do the desert of Merzouga in two days and one night, although it was a long way to get to the desert, it is absolutely worth it. When traveling to unfamiliar places you have a kind of fear, to know that what you are paying for will be met. In this case they exceeded all our expectations, everything was set up perfectly and with friendliness at all times. The hotel in Dades, a beauty, which transports you to live for a moment in a beautiful Riad. The Haimas in él deserts impeccable. I would definitely recommend it to those who want to have an excellent experience with no surprises. We were 1 couple, 2 children and grandparents. Thank you for everything.
