6 Days tour from Marrakech to Sahara
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech - High Atlas - Telouat - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate.
In Morocco circuit 6 days, pick up at the airport and departure south crossing the High Atlas through the port of Tizi Ntichka (2,260m altitude) where we will make several stops to see some beautiful panoramic views where we can make beautiful photos.
We will continue our route along a small road where we will take the opportunity to contemplate beautiful landscapes of great chromatic diversity, until we reach the village of Telouat, where we will visit its Kasbah and have lunch in a typical restaurant in the village.
In the afternoon we will continue our journey by road passing through various Berber villages where families live in adobe houses lost in the mountains until we reach the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO).
In this spectacular setting have been filmed several famous movies like Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz … After visiting the Kasbah we will go to Ouarzazate considered the great gateway to the desert. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Ouarzazate - Valley of the Roses - Todra Gorges - Merzouga.
Breakfast and departure to the Valley of Roses through the palm grove of Skoura where begins a road dotted with Kasbahs all different. After several stops, we will arrive at one of the strong points of the South:
The Todra Gorges. The Todra River has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty. It is a climber’s paradise and a unique place. Lunch at a restaurant in the Gorges and continue to the desert to reach the impressive Merzouga Dunes. After taking the Hospitality Tea and leave the luggage in the rooms, we will have the possibility to climb the dunes and take the opportunity to contemplate a wonderful sunset.
Return from the dunes and chat with the Berbers of the lodge to understand and learn a little more about life in the desert. Dinner and Berber music show with drums and castanets. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi - Nomads - Merzouga.
We are already in the desert! after a hearty and rich breakfast, we will surround the Erg Chebbi, an extension of sandy desert where the Great Dune of Morocco, over 250 meters high, and connect by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar and with the mountains bordering Algeria in the background.
Stop at the oasis of Tissardmin and continue on route to a nomadic settlement where we will learn some of the secrets of their life and customs.
Later stop at a panoramic point where we can see the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with a tea while enjoying a small concert of spiritual music of Gnawa. Return to the lodge, lunch and around 16:00h we will leave in a camel caravan to the Haimas camp (1h approximately) and, before arriving, we will enjoy the sunset and stretch our legs a little before reaching the haimas, on arrival at the camp we will be offered a tea of Hospitality, as usual, and before dinner we will take the opportunity to climb the big dune or simply to those near the camp and enjoy the peace and silence that the moment and the place offers us. We will sleep in the Haima under a blanket of stars in the heart of the desert.
Day 4 : Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Draa Valley - Zagora.
We will wake up before dawn to contemplate the sunrise from the Great Dune. Return by camels to the lodge. Shower and breakfast.
Early departure to Rissani and visit the city considered the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty where mainly highlights its market which is considered the most important in the south, where many desert nomads come to make their purchases. We will leave the desert behind and cross the arid and at the same time interesting pre-desert landscapes to reach the Draa Valley where we will make several stops to enjoy the valley along the river of the same name, which is the longest in Morocco and crosses the entire country to Mauritania.
We will continue our journey to Zagora, current administrative center of the area and from where the caravans used to leave for Timbuktu in a long journey that lasted 52 days, from here we can see the entire Draa Valley and the Oasis of the same name, considered the largest in Morocco as well as the richest in the production of dates. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Zagora - Ouarzazate - High Atlas - Marrakech.
Breakfast and departure to see the poster showing the 52 days trip to Timbuktu (very important commercial center of Mali) before climbing towards the Anti Atlas to reach Ouarzazate where we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, Tifoultoute and the Studios of cinema.
We will leave for Marrakech crossing the port of Tizi N’ Tichka, and we will stop for lunch in a restaurant in the mountains. Afterwards we will visit the Argan oil cooperative where we will discover the process of production and we will be explained the countless benefits that this product has for the human body. We will continue route towards Marrakech and already in the city we will enjoy a free night to enjoy a walk in the Jamaa el Fna square and to have dinner in the typical stalls that crowd the square. Overnight in Riad.
Day 6 : Marrakech - Airport.
At the agreed time transfer to the airport and end of Morocco 6 days tour.
