4 days desert tours from Fes

Day : 1 - Fes - Ifrane Monkey forest Midelt Erfoud - Merzouga desert.

In the 4 days excursion trip to Merzouga desert. Departure from Fes towards the desert of Merzouga through the Middle Atlas and passing through the national park known for its cedar forests where the famous Barbary monkeys are found. Then we will cross the Ziz Valley that will lead us to Erfoud known for its fossils.

Arrival in the desert where we will change the 4×4 for camels with which we will take a pleasant ride of about two hours through the desert dunes to reach the haima camp in the heart of the desert where we will be welcomed (according to the tradition of the Sahara) with a Berber tea. Night in haimas under the desert stars.

Day: 2 - Desert - Visit Nomads - Village of the Blacks (Khamlia) - Erg Chebbi

After breakfast we will visit Khamlia, the so-called village of “the blacks”, so called because its inhabitants are descendants of the old slave trade that came from Sudan. They are excellent musicians and have made this art their way of life.

With them we will enjoy a small concert of gnawa music. We will return to the 4×4 to travel one of the tracks used in the “Paris-Dakar Rally”, visiting the mines of Khol and the remains of a French and Berber village.

We will make a panoramic stop to contemplate the sand desert that comprises the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will visit a nomadic desert people in the process of sedentarism with whom we can take tea and learn more about their way of life. Return to the hotel. Afternoon free and night in hotel in the desert.

Day : 3 - Desert - Ziz vally Fez

After breakfast we start our day 3 north through the Tafilalet palm grove, the largest in the world. You will see thousands of palm trees along the 20 km of road. This way leads us to the Ziz valley, which descends from the high Atlas and feeds the palm grove. Here we make a stop and from this high vantage point, enjoy the magnificent view of the valley and the city of Aoufous.

We make another stop in Midelt, right in the heart of the Atlas where you will have free time for lunch and rest for a while. In the afternoon we continue our way through Cedar Woods where, if we are lucky, we will see some monkeys.

The next place we will visit is the city of Ifrane, located on the northwest slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above water level. Its wide avenues, its urbanization with perfect cleanliness, gardens, green areas and its architecture make this city look like a Swiss city.

Ifrane feels bad in Morocco. That’s why it is called the Switzerland of Morocco, and that’s not enough, it has an important ski resort, Michlifen, around 6 pm we arrive in Fez, transfer to the hotel.

Day : 4 - Guided tour of Fez - Fez Airport

Guided tour of the city of Fez where you will discover the most interesting places of the largest medina in the Arab world.

At the appointed time, transfer to the airport. End of excursion 4 days Merzouga desert.

We were a group of friends and had little time, so we were able to modify the trip and do the desert of Merzouga in two days and one night, although it was a long way to get to the desert, it is absolutely worth it. When traveling to unfamiliar places you have a kind of fear, to know that what you are paying for will be met. In this case they exceeded all our expectations, everything was set up perfectly and with friendliness at all times. The hotel in Dades, a beauty, which transports you to live for a moment in a beautiful Riad. The Haimas in él deserts impeccable.
