If you are traveling in spring or summer, it is usually warm in Morocco, so we recommend light and comfortable clothing and footwear. We always recommend varying between sneakers for the busiest areas, such as the medinas, and sandals for the hottest places. It tends to cool down at night, especially in the coastal area, so we recommend bringing something light to wear.
Don’t forget to bring clothing that covers your arms and legs so you can enter religious sites. It’s also a good idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for when the heat gets too intense. For the desert, you can bring a long scarf or buy a turban, which is easy to find.
If you travel in fall or winter, daytime temperatures are pleasant, but it gets colder at night. It is advisable to bring warm clothing, as well as a hat, scarf, and gloves, especially if you are traveling between December and February. Closed, comfortable shoes are recommended. As in summer, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended for when the sun is strongest. For the desert, you can bring a long scarf or buy a turban, which is easy to find.
Due to its geography and high Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline, low mountains, steppes, and deserts, Morocco has a wide variety of climates. In general, the climate is warm except in December, January, and February, which are the coldest months of the year. During August, the climate in the desert is hot. What to bring It is advisable to bring sun protection items such as sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm. If you use a special brand of soap or tissues, it is best to bring them with you. We provide a first aid kit as part of our services, but it is best to bring some basic medicines with you, such as ibuprofen, aspirin, laxatives, stomach protectors, and mosquito repellent cream. Finally, we advise you to bring comfortable clothing and footwear, and a warm jacket to combat the cold at night (not necessary if you are traveling in summer).
Vaccinations It is not mandatory to be vaccinated if you are traveling to Morocco. Recommended vaccinations include typhoid fever and hepatitis (generally recommended for any destination if you are staying in rural areas). The reality is that Morocco’s dry, sunny climate has traditionally been a factor in its popularity as a place to recover from illness. For example, the sand baths in the Erg Chebbi dunes are well known for their numerous therapeutic properties. For more information on health and vaccinations, we recommend visiting the website of your country’s Ministry of Health.
