Essaouira is a destination well worth visiting, offering a wealth of experiences for every traveler. Located just a two-hour drive from Marrakech, it provides a refreshing coastal escape.
The city is a major draw for surfing enthusiasts thanks to its Atlantic climate; the consistent winds along the shore create the perfect conditions for the sport. Beyond the beach, Essaouira’s unique charm lies in its ancient landmarks and stunning coastal vistas.
Furthermore, the city is a cultural hub, most famous for hosting the Gnaoua World Music Festival. This renowned event takes place over four days every June, celebrating Gnaoua music alongside various other international musical genres.
We will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. from your accommodation (Riad, hotel) in Marrakech. After that, we will head to Essaouira. Also known as Mogador, this fortified city and fishing village is located on the Atlantic coast and is famous for its variety of fresh seafood. Upon arrival, we will first visit the fishing port, the Skala, a fantastic place famous for its rows of giant cannons overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the old Medina. Essaouira is also a great place to watch a beautiful sunset. After exploring all that Essaouira has to offer, we will return to Marrakech in the evening. We will drop you off at your destination, and this concludes our day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech.
