6-Day Tour from Fes to the Sahara Desert

Day 1: Fez-Midelt.

In 6 days from Fez to the desert. After breakfast, we will leave for Midelt via Ifrane, also known as the Switzerland of Morocco. We will arrive at the Azrou forest where we will stop to enjoy watching the monkeys climb the cedar trees. Then we will continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Midelt and accommodation at a hotel.

Day 2: Midelt – Merzouga.

We have breakfast and travel through the Ziz Valley and its Gorges to Errachidia, arriving at the city of Erfoud, famous for being the capital of fossils. Then we will go to Merzouga, where we will spend the day enjoying the peace of the desert. Accommodation in a hotel near the dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga – Desert route in 4×4 – Camel ride – Night in the desert.

After breakfast, we will begin the great dune route, passing through many desert villages, one of which is the village of Khamlia, where we will stop to enjoy Gnawa music. We will then continue the route, visiting the desert nomads in their haimas, where we will discover a new meaning to life… In the afternoon, we will ride camels to spend the night in the middle of the dunes under a nomadic haima.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi – The Toldra Gorges.

We will get up early to watch the beautiful sunrise and climb the dunes, then ride camels back to the hotel where we will have breakfast. We will then continue to the Toldra Gorges via Rissani, where we will stop briefly to visit its traditional souk, considered the largest in southern Morocco, before continuing on to the Toldra Gorges. Overnight stay at a hotel in the Toldra Gorges.

Day 5: The Toldra Gorges – Ouarzazate.

We will have breakfast and take a short walk through the Gorges before continuing on to the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses, home to the Skoura Oasis. Arrival in Ouarzazate and accommodation in a riad.

Day 6: Ouarzazate–Marrakech.

After breakfast and before continuing to Marrakech, we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where many films have been shot, including Sahara, Kingdom of Heaven, Cleopatra, and Gladiator. We will then continue to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’tichka pass, where we will be able to see many Berber villages and farms. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon and accommodation in a riad at the end of the 6-day trip from Fez to the desert.
