5 Days Desert tour from Fes

Day 1: Fes – Todra Gorges

On the first day of your 5-day excursion from Fes, we depart in the morning toward Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Afterward, we will reach the village of Imilchil, famous for the Isli and Tislit lakes (the “Lakes of the Bride and Groom”). We will then continue our journey toward the Todra Gorges. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2: Todra Gorges – Ouzina Desert

After breakfast, we will travel through various valleys and many Berber villages. We will follow one of the tracks used in the Paris-Dakar Rally, stopping halfway to enjoy authentic Berber tea with nomads under a traditional tent (haima). Later, we will visit the Ramlia Oasis. In the evening, we will arrive at the lodge in Ouzina.

Day 3: Ouzina Desert – Ouzina Village

After breakfast, you will have a free day to visit the village of Ouzina and its surroundings. This is an opportunity to learn about the lifestyle and customs of its inhabitants, sharing a “Berber whisky” (as they affectionately call mint tea) as a sign of hospitality. If you wish, you will have the chance to get a henna tattoo with various Berber motifs, performed by a specialist in the art.

For lunch, we will enjoy a delicious Berber pizza at our guide Hassan’s home, thanks to his family’s hospitality. In the afternoon, we will return to the lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.

Day 4: Ouzina Desert – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will travel along off-road tracks passing through several border villages between Morocco and Algeria. In the afternoon, we will arrive at Erg Chebbi, where camels await us to cross the dunes and enjoy the sunset in the desert. Dinner and overnight stay in a Nomadic tent (haima).

Day 5: Merzouga – Fes

We will return to the hotel on camelback. After a shower and breakfast, we begin the long journey back, leaving the beautiful desert behind. We will cross the Ziz Valley and the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing through the Cedar Forest, where we will stop for a refreshment and to see the monkeys. We will arrive late in the evening in Fes, the capital of Moroccan culture, and transfer to your hotel. End of the 5-day Fes excursion.
