5-Day Tour from Marrakech to Sidi Ifni

Day 1: Marrakech – Essaouira

Pick up at 8:00 a.m. at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We will depart for Essaouira. Free day to visit the ancient port of Mogador, built by the Portuguese on a narrow peninsula next to a huge crescent of fine sand. Perfectly sheltered by its impressive 18th-century French-built walls. Lunch on your own, where you can sample fish and enjoy a delicious meal at the port. From the top of the Skala, you can see the colorful fishing port, the fortresses, and the Spanish cannons. Essaouira is also famous for its refined crafts, especially woodwork. Dinner and accommodation at the riad.

Day 2: Essaouira – Agadir – Sidi Ifni

After breakfast, we will head south to visit the beautiful beaches of Sidi Ifni. On the way, we will make a brief stop in Agadir, which has become a popular summer destination in recent years. We will continue on to Sidi Ifni, a ghost town of great natural beauty. Traces of the Spanish presence remain, particularly in the names of the streets and Spanish surnames, and the old Plaza de España, which remained intact after the Spanish left. Since Spain’s departure, Morocco has not developed the city much, but perhaps that is part of its charm: a quiet town with friendly people surrounded by spectacular, unspoiled beaches. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 3: Sidi Ifni – Legzira Beach

After breakfast, we will visit one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, Legzira Beach, a natural monument featuring spectacular red sandstone arches that resemble naturally formed dinosaur feet. You will have the day free to enjoy the sun, the sea, and the beautiful caves and arches, which are perfect for taking photos. Return to Sidi Ifni. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: Sidi Ifni – Taroudant – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will depart for Ouarzazate. During the journey, we will stop in Taroudant. Like Marrakech, Taroudant has imposing adobe walls adorned with square towers. On a 7 km carriage ride around the walls, you can discover the five gates, of which Bab El-Kasba is the main and most majestic.

The excellent state of preservation of the crenellated walls commands respect. Large fruit gardens surround the city, and its medina and souks are very lively; there, the profusion of decorative items, jewelry, carpets, and other antiques is mind-boggling. We will continue on to Ouarzazate, known as the Moroccan Hollywood for its large film studios. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will leave Ouarzazate. We will have the opportunity to visit a film studio. We will then continue on our way and visit the fabulous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This spectacular setting has been used to shoot such renowned films as Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, Babel, and others. Return to Marrakech, admiring the beauty of the mountains dotted with villages inhabited by Berbers along the way. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon/evening. End of our services.
