2 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Atlas Mountains – Merzouga (camel ride and night in the desert)

Your driver for the 2-day excursion from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert will pick you up early in the morning at your hotel or riad in Marrakech to begin the journey.

We will travel through the mountain pass of Tizi n’Tichka, making several stops to enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and the traditional Berber villages that surround the area.

We will continue on to the fortified ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. This iconic enclave has been the setting for numerous international films and series such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, The Jewel of the Nile, and The Mummy.

After the visit, we will continue our journey into the desert until we reach the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi – Merzouga. There we will take a camel ride through the golden dunes while watching the sunset over the Sahara. Anyone who wishes to can try sandboarding on the dunes.

Arrival at the Berber camp in the desert, where we will be welcomed with a cup of mint tea. We will have free time to rest before dinner.

In the evening, we will enjoy:

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

We will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga.

We will return to camp riding camels again (or in 4x4s for those who prefer). After breakfast and a shower at the lodge, we will begin our journey back.

We will pass through:

✔ Rissani and its traditional market
✔ Valleys and palm groves of southern Morocco
✔ Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains, such as Nkoub and Agdz

We will cross the High Atlas Mountains again before arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon.
